For so long I used to say, "God won't give me more than I can handle."
But now,
I'm wondering
if actually
He does.
Because only then do I declare my desperate dependence on Him.
And sing music to His ears.
With, "I need you."
And I open up my hands.
And say, "I can't handle this!"
So, maybe,
just maybe,
He does give me more than I can handle.
Because He can.
2 Corinthians 12:9
"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
2 Corinthians 3:5
"Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God"
I think I see what you're saying, like God gives us more than we can handle because that's how much we need in order to realize we can't handle it? I believe that's a very real concept to grasp, and it makes sense! One thing I've been focusing on lately is this simple concept " I'm happy to call him my savior but do I call him my Lord? Do I let him be my everything or only the only who saved me? So simple but it helps me think of my daily walk.
ReplyDeleteHope you are doing great Sal!!!
Yes I love this thought of calling on Him constantly (being your Lord) and not just stopping at the point of when He first saved you . . . I'm on board with this entirely . . .
