3 months and then some

It is a bit confusing to calculate how old Baby Daye is. She's technically 16 weeks today!!! Which you would think equals 4 months, but she's not actually 4 months until August 7th, so, we'll just say she's 3 months and a little extra :)

I forgot to take a picture of her next to her Girry at her official 3 months, so here's one from yesterday! :) She looks like a Giant!
She thought it was so funny!
And here are a few from my phone that were too cute not to post!

At the beach
In her chair with her large bib on that makes me think of a frilled necked lizard every time . . . I know I know, that's terrible because the frilled necked lizard is rather frightening

yabadabadebidooooo

It was a great week filled with tiny bathing suits (on babies, not women)

Here she looks LARGE and is showing you her painted toe nails

Matching her cousin Handley Reid! She already looks up to her :)

Showcasing a smile since she's inside with AC

Next Day she's ready to visit Little House on the Prairie

Handley Reid - do it girl!

It was an itsy bitsy teeny weeny pink and blue checked bikini

I looooove to look at my Daddy

Giggle Monster on the beach!

I don't look quite as suave as Handley Reid when she wears sunglasses

Brooke and Auntie Anne

Sifter and Handley

Bishop and Tay - a classic. If you look close the tongue is in the nose

Beau man . . . "oh my mercy"

Old Buddies all grown up

After Debido we went to Wilmington to visit my dad's mom, Mimi, but on the way we stopped in Gresham, SC to get Daddy's new present, "Jacks"!!! Beautiful Baby Boykin Boy (amazing alliteration)

Playing on Mimi's floor

Her 6th great grandchild! She's 92 and amazing!

Lots of pics lack of words except this truth:

"His delight is in the law of the Lord, on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree firmly planted by the streams of the water which yields its fruit in season, whose leaf never withers. Everything he does prospers."
Psalm 1:2-3

Debbiedooooooooo

Tomorrow we are headed to my favorite place in the world for my favorite week of the year!

Debordieu

When my cousin, Alla, was tiny enough to be in a car seat she would say, "Yabbadabbadebbiedoooo!" when we were in route.

We LOVE this place!

More than the place, of course, it's the people we are with: Nana, Granddaddy, Bryant, Anne, George, Megan, McKenna, Brody, Anna Beth, Andrew, Brooke, David, Kate, Mama, Daddy, JoBy, Tombo, Beau, Handley Reid (her first year too!), Scot, Peggy, Handley, Blake, Land, Van Earl, Shari, Alla, Bishop, Lizzie, Steve, Austin, Luke

and, baby Daye's first time to join the crowd :)
Here are some pictures from last year - they are all of Beau :)

one of the creepiest pictures EVER - if you look closely in the background you can see Joby thinks so too!

The little people: McKenna, Anna Beth, Brody and Beau

Tune back for pictures from this year when we return.

so thankful that we are able to go on vacation . . . we are so blessed

Alla came to town!

My cousin Alexandra came to town last week. We call her "Alla". She was volunteering at Bright Futures during the day but came to see us on Tuesday night and met Daye for the first time!
She spent each night with a different cousin and then we had a girls day Friday and Saturday. Aunt Peggy gave her The Swan House (by my favorite featured author) and so we thought we should definitely take her to The Swan House and The Swan Coach house so she could picture what she was reading. I think she had a great time!

Then Eesie and Bots came for a quick visit. They immediately jumped on the floor and I believe didn't even acknowledge that Taylor and I were in the room until about 15 minutes later . . . they LOVE being grandparents!

Some of you may have alreday seen this on Twitter, but couldn't resist a blog pic of "Just chillin with Dad!"

And watching the Braves!

Elizabeth Musser

My favorite author, Elizabeth Musser, came to town recently and I got to meet her!

She writes Christian Fiction maybe you've heard of or read The Swan House?
She's also written The Dwelling Place, Searching for Eternity, Two Crosses, Two Testaments, Two Destinies, Words Unspoken and her most recent (pictured above) The Sweetest Thing.

Reasons I call her my favorite author:
- Her stories have eternal purpose
- I typically can get hooked from page 1.
- She grew up in Atlanta (went to Westminster), went to Vanderbilt and now lives in France as a missionary.
- Due to the above, her stories take place in Atlanta, Nashville and France and I love personally knowing the setting (at least Atlanta's references)
- Her parents are good friends with my grandparents
- She went to Westminster and Vanderbilt with my mother-in-law, Claire
- One of her dearest friends, Laura McDaniel, is my Aunt Peggy's dear friend
- Due to the 3 previous bullets: I falsely feel like I personally know her :)
- I wrote her a letter about 2 years ago telling her how I loved her writing and she hand wrote me a letter in return from France!

So, although those may be childish reasons to love an author - I do!

And I highly recommend you pick up one of her books - I have no doubt you will love it/them!

I think my favorite is still The Swan House (A story of grief accompanied by an unlikely friendship). But I truly do love all of them! My other favorites being the trilogy (Two Crosses, Two Testaments, Two Destinies - all taken place in France during the Algerian War - so there is a good bit of history about a time in which I knew basically nothing about) and Words Unspoken (takes place in Chatanooga and Atlanta and deals with the voices we all seem to battle with in our heads) and The Sweetest Thing (A story of friendship through tragedy).Italic

Meeting her was the highlight of my week - I so looked forward to it and have thought back on it many times. It was a great "me time" thing to do!

I was however so excited to come home to these two!

and bukes of course! :)

4th of July!

just chillin in the bumbo

We got together with John and Aimee Flores last week. They had beautiful Britain 1 week before Daye (who looks like an old man on the couch)

and here is a shot from when Daye spotted a human with 5 heads

Catie and David got to meet her for a quick visit on Saturday as they were making their way back to the east coast!!

She sure does love her Daddy . . . and boy is he smittin with her!

She LOVES to watch The Braves!

And finally, our new favorite throw pillow!
