Flashmob

So when my roomies were in town for Dave and Kate's Wedding we started talking about Flashmobs. It was an introduction of the new vocabulary word to Bukes and so we decided to look a few up so he could enjoy the amazing-ness of this awesome trend.
Yesterday, on twitter, I saw that Scoutmob (one of our favorite ways to do a discount date night) was having a Flashmob for Scoutmob today at 6pm!
Then, last night at Small Group we were talking about Heaven and how most likely there will be Flashmobs going on and they will be the best ever because everyone will be incredible dancers and you'll never have to practice because everyone will already know how to do the steps perfectly every time! And Bukes said, "Yeah and Jesus will be the one to yell out, "Flashmoooobb!"
. . . only, that's not really the case because no one actually yells out "Flashmob" to get it started :)
That's the wonder of it all . . . they just start with one person looking like a fool and then another joins in and then another and then before you know it a WHOLE train station or arena or park are doing the exact same dance at the exact same time and it's AMAZING!
So, I just wanted those of you who've never had the privilege of experiencing a Flashmob to be introduced to one of the things that truly brings me joy and makes me smile when I see it unfold - give it time if you are watching this as your first
enjoy!

p.s. if you want to get one going and need another member, I'M IN!!!!

How lovely are your branches

Christmas Tree Tradition 2010! 3 years ago we started a tradition with Anna and Ryan Reese to meet in early December and get our Christmas Trees together. This way we would always know that at least once a year, we'd see each other. Well, then, we took a hiatus for 2 years due to craziness of life - but this year, the Tradition was BACK ON!
We met in North Georgia where my parents live as a half way point and had a GREAT weekend together!
Here are a few pictures I had to steal from Anna's Blog (sorry for all you readers who also follow her:) since I still cannot find my camera charger.

Anna and Ryan (and a creep in the background) heading out for the day

Tay and Me getting ready to head out

Cweep and Me

We ate breakfast at the Batesville General Store to "Carb Load" for the long day

Sadly, on our drive to the tree farm it definitely started to rain - don't worry it was still 33 degrees outside

Tay and me in search of our great tree

Just happy to be almost dry and almost warm and almost done!

Just being Cweeps (In college we shared the upstairs of a house called Grannies. We actually shared a bedroom which meant we shared a bed which I thought meant that we should share everything else . . . Only thing was, I didn't tell her that's what I thought :)
So, sometimes when Anna was still sleeping, I'd rummage through her closet (our closet) and her dresser to see if there was anything she'd probably want me to wear that day. Then, one morning, she walked out of the bedroom to go to the bathroom and caught me red-handed! In my PJ's with one hand in her dresser drawers and the other hand holding a few options for the day. . . oops - caught! There were also times when it seemed like everywhere she turned, there I was - oops - a creep! There was also that one time after I moved out of Grannies and got married that she and Becca were going through their clothes. They pulled out one of Becca's sweaters and found a tiny little remanence of their long lost roomie - aka #1 Creep - a name tag that read, "Hello! My name is Sally Stanfill". Turned out you didn't have to share a room, bed, closet or upstairs with me to be a recipient of my Creep Shenanigans. So, we already called ourselves Grannies (due to the house we lived in), but we added another name to the pot - Creeps! Which morphed into Cweeps!)

We found our tree!

They found theirs!

Back home after the day - showing you what a Cweep does . . .

Ahh, Sunday morning when it wasn't raining! Here we are, about to say goodbye! What a GREAT weekend! We Love you!!!!

Lots going on

We got our Christmas Tree last weekend! I will post more about it with pictures in a bit!

Just wanted you to know that Baby Bukes is MOVING! She is a busy little bee. I love it! The week we found out she was a she, I confirmed that what I was feeling inside was actually her little body shifting and stretching and rolling and punching and kicking! It's a pretty amazing miracle - one which I am incredibly thankful for!
This has been an amazing experience so far . . . and she's not even here yet!
I thought we should do a countdown for her arrival - since the countdown for her gender announcement was, you know, the most exciting thing all year!

Days til Baby Bukes is here:
122!

Also, Tay and I are in the midst of picking out names and nursery. It's slightly overwhelming - but mostly exciting :)
The nursery - falling heavily lopsided on the exciting side - we got a dresser this weekend that we are going to also use as the Changing Table. It's a shaby chic look from a store near where my parents live. I LOVE it! KILLER deal!
We decided we are going to stay where we are for when she is born - at least until the end of July when our lease is up. That means our cute little 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom will be rid of a dining area and afresh with a nursery. Aubs is really helping me brainstorm and formulate a precious plan! I am quite adrenalized by it!

Don't worry there will be pictures of our creative space to come as well!
Tonight, Tay and I are going to Lenox just to enjoy the Christmas decorations and buzz.

Date Night

Last night we went to House of Chan for Date Night. I must admit I've been craving Chinese food for a few weeks now, so this was an EXCELLENT way to appease me :).
Everyone at Tay's work has been talking about House of Chan, they LOVE it! It is off the beaten path and one we'd never heard of before, but it was DYNAMITE (that was for all the Grannies and Tay and Ryan)!
Who doesn't love being greeted by a free cup of hot tea and fried deliciousness?

(my camera is dead and I cannot find the charger :( so I took this with my phone which has no flash)

The food was great (enough for leftovers which is always a plus!), the fortune cookie read, "Forget about the stock market. Invest in family" which was highly appropriate, and the company - well, that's always the best ever.

I told Tay that although House of Chan was completely different than trendy Verasano's, it was ranking up there with my new favorite local family Chinese place.

Might I add that we did go on our date at 6:30 and were back in the car by 8:15pm?
We are creeping into the old folks category . . . or maybe we've been there for a while :)
